LBG : 65% du capital pris par le gouvernement britannique

Cette participation passera à un maximum théorique de 77% en incluant des actions spéciales, mais le gouvernement a accepté de ne pas aller au-delà de 75%, pour éviter une nationalisation de fait de LBG.

Cette augmentation de la participation vient en contrepartie de la garantie publique accordée à l'équivalent de 260 milliards de livres (290 milliards d'euros) d'actifs toxiques de LBG, un groupe né de la fusion des banques HBOS et Lloyds TSB.

Ces 260 milliards de livres d'actifs risqués sont assurés par le gouvernement à hauteur de 90%, au-delà d'une franchise de 25 milliards de livres qui restera à la charge de la banque.

"Participer au Plan de protection des actifs réduit de manière substantielle le profil de risque du bilan du groupe", a déclaré Eric Daniels, directeur général de LBG .
